1 Peter 2:4 As you come to Him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious.
A sweet lady who goes to church with us was wounded in an accident as a young girl. This wound has confined her to a wheelchair with very little mobile ability.
However, every time she comes through the doors of church, she has a bright smile on her face and seems so content to just be in the house of the Lord. Many times Rachel has encouraged me in the Lord and has never known it. This morning as we were standing in worship, I looked towards my daughter and caught sight of the foot of Rachel’s chair. I was moved to tears to realize that we take for granted being able to stand, raise our arms, and maybe even dance a little for our God!
As we sat down, I grabbed my notebook and began to write down what was flowing from my heart. I Pray that this will encourage all of us to be Completely Free in Him!
Father, As I sit here in this chair,
My heart cries;
Do they hear?
Do they hear my cry to be free?
Free to run,
Free to dance,
Is there even a chance?
A chance that I might ever,
Ever run free?
Run in a green and grassy field?
Oh, Lord to you, to you,
I desire to yield!
I do not know that plans You have.
I do not know what Your reason may be.
I only know when I close my eyes,
listening to You,
I am only then, completely free!
Free to run into Your arms of grace,
Free to dance,
free to see
The smile on Your face!
One day my freedom
will truly be,
not only my faith,
but, I will see!
Use me now to show these others,
Who though they are not,
in this chair,
They still have many burdens,
They still have many cares.
Oh, Father when on me they look,
Help them to see what’s in Your book.
They can have the faith I see,
They can run, dance,
be only in You,
Rachel, thank you for your daily decision in the trials of your life to choose Him. You are precious in His sight and the sight of so many even though like me they may not have told you before.
You are a blessing!
