1 Peter 2:4 As you come to Him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious.

A sweet lady who goes to church with us was wounded in an accident as a young girl. This wound has confined her to a wheelchair with very little mobile ability.

However, every time she comes through the doors of church, she has a bright smile on her face and seems so content to just be in the house of the Lord. Many times Rachel has encouraged me in the Lord and has never known it. This morning as we were standing in worship, I looked towards my daughter and caught sight of the foot of Rachel’s chair. I was moved to tears to realize that we take for granted being able to stand, raise our arms, and maybe even dance a little for our God!

As we sat down, I grabbed my notebook and began to write down what was flowing from my heart. I Pray that this will encourage all of us to be Completely Free in Him!

Completely Free

Father, As I sit here in this chair,

My heart cries;

Do they hear?

Do they hear my cry to be free?

Free to run,

Free to dance,

Is there even a chance?

A chance that I might ever,

Ever run free?

Run in a green and grassy field?

Oh, Lord to you, to you,

I desire to yield!

I do not know that plans You have.

I do not know what Your reason may be.

I only know when I close my eyes,

listening to You,

I am only then, completely free!

Free to run into Your arms of grace,

Free to dance,

free to see

The smile on Your face!

One day my freedom

will truly be,

not only my faith,

but, I will see!

Use me now to show these others,

Who though they are not,

 in this chair,

They still have many burdens,

They still have many cares.

 Oh, Father when on me they look,

Help them to see what’s in Your book.

They can have the faith I see,

They can run, dance,

be only  in You,

Completely Free!

Rachel, thank you for your daily decision in the trials of  your life to choose Him. You are precious in His sight and the sight of so many even though like me they may not have told you before.

You are a blessing!

Philippians 1:6

And I am SURE of this, that He who began a good work in you will be bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Last night my precious son came into our bedroom and shared some struggles he was having in his life. For being 12 years old I was very blessed by his heart and insight on his walk with Christ. To quote him, ” Sometimes I don’t feel like my salvation is full….” he said this with many tears.

What my husband and I proceeded to tell him came up again this afternoon while texting with another precious young lady whom I have grown very fond of the past months.

This is where we stand.  Our salvation is finished. It is done. It is paid for. Accomplished. But, It is is not full. It will not be full till we are looking at the face of our blessed Redeemer, Our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

This is called sanctification. He is still working on us! Daily. Hourly. By the minute. When we feel it and when we don’t. Praise His name when we are not sure of us, we can be sure of HIM! The above scripture came to mind… He will complete it on that day!  Not before, not after. Psalms 73:26 says My heart and my strength may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever!

It is His strength, not ours. We have, and will fail again. He does not. Praise His Holy name that He is still working on me and you!

And to my son, and this young lady, ( you know who you are)

Keep pressing on.

Keep Him as your guide…( Psalms 86:11)

Keep lifting your eyes to Him.

And…. You are never a waste of my time! 😉

The ‘Pretender’

I gotta tell you, I don’t watch the news. Usually the news I get is from my husband reading the paper. I will read articles online though that catch my eye. This one did. I am disgusted that once again we see a figure come into the exposed human light and he proclaims to “know God, and hear Him speak.” Satan loves nothing more, I think than to cast a nasty smudge on Christianity over and over again! The world  knows right from wrong even tho, ” evil is called good and good is called evil.”  Hence they know an idiot when they see one! And here he is! Proclaiming loudly that he knows my GOD! I don’t think so!  See, Psalms 33:4 says that the Word of the Lord is upright and ALL HIS WORKS are DONE IN FAITHFULNESS! This is not a servant of my God, but rather a messed up man who has left at least four victims to have to deal with hurt, and the Lord only knows what kind of grief! Please join me in praying for them!

I Concur

Oswald Chambers said ” No love  of the human heart is safe unless that human heart has been satisfied with God first.”

“Father~~I know that some mornings I wake up and I do not stop to ear you and listen to you tell me of your unfailing love. The day hurries by without me telling you that in you alone I desire to place my trust. Father, make me to know the way I should go this day so that I can rest in You and You alone for satisfaction. Let me take others off the hook, my husband, my friends, my children, my family, and let you alone meet and fill the need inside of me. To you alone I lift up my soul and ask you to fill to the point of overflowing so that I may splash a little on others as I go.”

Psalms 143:8

Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me to know the way I should go, for to you I lift my soul.

Proverbs 3:3-6

3 Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you;
 bind them around your neck;
 write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 So you will find favor and good success
 in the sight of God and man.

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.

Well, I am on the road to sanity … I think… This morning I read a very familiar set of verses…. let me share them with you.

Isaiah 26:3 You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
because he trusts in you.

Isaiah 32:17 And the effect of righteousness will be peace,
 and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions;
 he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his stripes we are healed.

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,..

Matthew 5:“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

2Thess 3:16 Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.

 Ok, so oblige me to share with you what I believe the Holy Spirit has quickened in my spirit this morning…

As I read the verse in 2 Thess I was reminded of a fact that I had forgotten.. Let me see if you have as well,

When was the last time that you needed peace in your life? In a specific situation? In your marriage? Between you and your children? Between you and co-workers? Maybe you are like me and a recent issue immediately has come up in your mind as an answer to this question. Well, I want to ask you, did you in any form, try to produce peace on your own? Seriously. Did you try to find a way out of the argument? Did you run to your thing you use as your “out”? Did you stop and consider the reasons you were even in this place?

Man! Don’t you love it when you can see the truth? Well, here ya go… the truth is we cannot produce peace!!!! We cannot even come close to it! We can try, and instead all we do is make a bigger mess! Galatians 5:22 tells us that peace it a fruit, a natural result of the Holy Spirit indwelling our lives! Even Matthew 5:9 which non-confrontational people quote all the time, tells us that the reason we are “peacemakers” is that we are the children of God. But we cannot make that peace separate from Him… I dare say that if you try to find a way through scripture for you to have peace other than through Christ, you will NOT ever come across it!

This brings me such joy! Why? Because, I don’t have to to do anything but to abide in Him, to have such peace! I do not have to worry about what others think, say, or do about or to me, I can rest my focus on Him and He brings me peace!

Thank you Father that YOU are THE LORD OF PEACE!!!

May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way….

The Godness of God

Psalms 95:3 For the Lord is a great God,
and a great King above all gods.
4 In his hand are the depths of the earth;
the heights of the mountains are his also.
5 The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land.

Do you ever just get overwhelmed at the awesomeness of God? I do. I am, this morning! I read this along with some other passages I am going to put at the bottom, and I remembered the feeling of being out on the sea. The first time, I was on the sea for any length of time was Oct 07.. the kids and I were on a cruise, on our way back, we faced some very strong /rough seas… the cruise ship which was no small thing, was tossed to and fro like a toy boat! The next morning, all was calm and the sea was like glass… I was sitting up on the top deck, and asked God to delight me with something. Right at that moment, I saw a huge fish below me, no joke! It was a blueish/greenish color.. and HUGE! I was so excited!

When I think about this passage that declares the greatness of our God, I can’t help but to be amazed that He made that sea! He is such an amazing God. And yet, He took the time to not only delight me then, but He has called me to himself more than just at salvation but every morning… “The earth is His and all that is in it”, including, Deanna Gott.

Job 12:10  In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.

Job 36:26-29  Behold, God is great, and we know him not;
 the number of his years is unsearchable.
27 For he draws up the drops of water;
they distill his mist in rain,
28 which the skies pour down
and drop on mankind abundantly.
29 Can anyone understand the spreading of the clouds,
the thunderings of his pavilion?

Psalms 24:1 The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof,
the world and those who dwell therein.

Psalms 40:5 You have multiplied, O Lord my God,
your wondrous deeds and your thoughts toward us;
none can compare with you!
I will proclaim and tell of them,
yet they are more than can be told.

Colossians 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by  him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
