Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.
I am reading a book I read years ago but really got very little out of it the first time. The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman.
I have decided that my primary love language must be words. Words of Affirmation that is. Many who read this blog know that I am O SO WORDY! I can use 100 words to describe one feeling when most people whom I associate with, would on their best day use 5! This causes an issue inside of me. A battle of questions and an open door for the enemy to torment me.
The Author of this book seems to be saying that if we do not speak the significant others “language” than we are just making noise and all of us know, noise can be very frustrating in a short amount of time.
I have not felt well the past few days and have been trying to rest (something that is very hard for my personality). Today I read some of this book and then began to drift off. As I began to drift off, I was thinking about this fact of “filling my love tank” and the Lord spoke so tenderly to my heart. ” Deanna, if you are looking for words that affirm your relationship to me, I wrote a whole book for you!” Immediately I was reminded of this scripture…
So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
The NIV says we know and RELY on the love God has for us…
This is how we daily fill our love tank. So, that regardless of our spouse, friends or family making the effort, we rely on Him to fill us up to overflowing. This is my prayer this wet and quiet afternoon.
