This morning I had a moment on the treadmill where I felt as if I needed to scream out, “THANK YOU FOR THE CROSS!”
It started as I ran and happened to look up at one of the televisions that were silent in front of me. This particular one was streaming the Today Show’s story about a woman who was able to meet the blood donors that helped to save her life. It was very moving just to watch, not even hearing. As I watched the touching embraces being shared, the thought came to me; “Even though she has physical life restored, unless she meets the Ultimate Blood Donor, Jesus Christ, she is still dead according to Ephesians chapter two.” The people who surrounded her were smiling as they looked upon the reward of their sacrifice, her physical life.
I put my head down to meditate on the thought that I believed had come from the Holy Spirit, just in time for Jeremy Horn’s song, ‘May the Lamb that was slain’ to come on! Amazing timing! A line that stood out was “May the Lamb that was slain see the reward for His suffering.” Oh! Does this not get you? I felt like dancing, crying, laughing, shouting all at the same time as I thought about the blood of my precious Saviour being given for me! And not just for me, but for you too if you will accept the gift.
I guess the woman I saw on TV could have rejected a blood transfusion, and she would be dead. It is the same with us spiritually. If we refused His blood, we will stay spiritually dead for eternity.
Oh I desire for those of you who are not saved to accept this blood that He has poured out for YOU!
Hebrews 9:14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.
1 Peter 1:18 knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. 20 He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you 21 who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.
Powerful word….Oh the blood of Jesus…it reaches to the highest mountan and flows to the lowest valley – the blood that gives me strength from day to day…will NEVER lose its power!
