John 15:1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. 7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. 9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.
My Jesus tells me,
“Deanna, Abide.”
I am to do just, this one thing
As I walk daily, by His side.
In midst of trial and pain,
His command is still the same,
“Deanna, Abide”,
In the storms of this life
If in my home there is strife,
His command alone
brings life,
“Deanna, Abide”
When my heart is full of grief
When my head I cannot lift,
My Jesus told me not to drift,
But rather
“Deanna, Abide”
Sometimes I fear my heart will fail
While the enemy seems to prevail,
But, my Jesus, stays the same,
And as I call on His precious name,
I hear the Words
As in other times came,
“Deanna, Abide”
When all is going well and good,
My children do just as they should,
My husband and I in each other, rejoice,
I still hear the whisper
of that still small voice.
“Deanna, Abide”
When my days on this earth are o’er,
And I stand on Heavens shore,
I will look at my Saviours
Spear thrust side,
And I plan to say,
“My Sweet Precious Lord,
With the Holy Spirit’s help,
I did all I could to abide.”
we always do as we should right?????
Amazing, Deanna. Love it.
First of all I am not very good at expressing my words. Deanna you definitely have a wonderful gift. These words that you have written remind me of the scripture that says “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” (I Corinthians 10:13, NIV) I must admit that sometimes we stand on very wobbly legs and sometimes we need friends to help hold us up.
I believe, in my own life anyway at this moment in time, that my temptation is to just give up, throw in the towel, the game is over when really, all along God is not finished with me. If He were done with me then I would be at home with Him. It is so easy to get caught up in this world that we live in and allow its cares and temptations to change our minds. The world tells us that if your kids are not doing what you think they should then your a “bad parent”. If your husband is not doing what you think he should then “get another one.” This world encourages our “already well exercised” selfishness. That is why He provides a way out so that we can stand up under it. God knows what this world has to offer and he knows us and our selfishness.
I don’t really know where I am going with this, I told you I am not very good at expressing myself but I do know that the words that God has given Deanna the past 2 weeks have really ministered to me. Thank you D for your obedience to write what He tells you. You have definitely been a messenger from God to me!!!
Well, Lynn, I think you are wrong about something. You are GREAT at expressing yourself! I felt every emotion typed. I love you!
