Psalms 90: 12
So teach us to number our days
that we may get a heart of wisdom.
Ever have one of those weeks, days, or maybe years that seem to be constantly reminding you ;we are not promised tomorrow on this earth?
I seem to be having one. This morning I was informed that friend has lost her ex-husband and her four kids have lost their father. He was in his mid forty’s and no one seemed to suspect his end was near. Now, life is over for him here on earth and the people that his life affected will have to determine how they are going to handle their grief.
As I was thinking and pondering on this, I thought of the above scripture. Why do we need to be taught to number our days? Because we seem to think we have all the time in the world, and we put off what we know God wants from us today. The Psalmist writes, ” that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” I don’t know about you, but there is nothing like coming face to face with death, that makes me want to gain all I can from the scriptures, and my relationship with Christ!
May we realize our days are numbered and seek to know Wisdom.
I was just thinking about this last night. I was sitting next to Trey thinking to myself “we really dont have much time together on this earth” cause i was thinking about how short life is. And how it can be taken away from us at any moment.
Its a hard thing to ponder on!
